There is a God and you are not Him.

Is this you? Because girl, same.

The number of times I have just wallowed in sorrow because I thought I'd messed it all up... I can't even count that high.

Maybe it was when I thought sex with the hottest guy would fix things, despite the fact that I knew he was a jerk and I'd end up hurt. (Spoiler alert- I got hurt.) Maybe it was when I was going through a divorce and so many people kept telling me how lucky I was that my family was sticking by me through it. (Spoiler alert- lots of that was for show and family was vicious behind the scenes) Oh and then there was when I let food be my main comfort over and over and over so that I've fluctuated around sixty pounds over the course of twenty years. (Spoiler alert- I'm still fluffy and I struggle with this every damn day.)

But. God.

No matter what I've done, He has me covered. Literally. I am covered in the blood of Jesus because I've chosen to confess that I am a messed up sinner in need of a Savior and that I choose Jesus as that Savior! Is that a free pass to just yolo on sin? Um no. But it does mean I know that I cannot be what undoes God's plan.

I mean if Thomas and Judas and Delilah didn't ruin it how can we think that we could? I mean y'all. Satan has his own army of angels. He's a very real, powerful presence in the world and even he cannot ruin God's plan! Important to note, we're not more powerful than Satan on our own, but thanks to Jesus we are on the winning side!

If you are a Christian, meaning you have prayed to God and confessed that you are a sinner in need of Jesus as your Savior and have put your faith and trust in Jesus for your future, then you cannot ruin it all. Can you make bad choices that have bad consequences. Yup. Can you ruin the plan that the God who spoke the stars into existence has ordained and set into place? Absofreakinglutely not.

You are not that powerful because YOU are NOT God. If we cannot save our own selves, how can we think we can mess "everything" up? It's time for a big ol' reality check.

Today, do a deep dive into your sin (past, present, whatever you pick... if you're like me you have plenty to choose from).

-List a couple of sins that stay heavy on your heart.

-List the immediate consequences that happen(ed) as a result of your choices.

-List future implications that could stem from those choices.

Pray over your list. Pray for forgiveness from these specific sins (name them in your prayer!) and ask God to show you how to:

-make amends where necessary

-minister to others using your past to help others move forward from or avoid the same pitfalls

-let go of the sin once you've given it over to God (remember- HE is the one with the power to take it away... your shame won't do anything for it)

Then move on it! Follow through where God leads you and just sit back and watch how He uses you for His plan... ya know. Since you've proven you really can't wreck the whole thing anyway.
